Sequels in 2011: Part II

Fast Five (April 29): The fifth entry in the series takes place after Fast & Furious and before The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. This will be the first one released in IMAX theaters, but fans can expect returning stars Vin Diesel and Paul Walker to bring the same high-energy action that they’ve patented in earlier installments. Whether there will be anything else to attract viewers is up in the air.Transformers: Dark of the Moon (July 1): Fandom is atwitter about Megan Fox’s drop from the film, but the third installment is right on schedule with a new love interestmodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. The story centers on a Cybertronian spacecraft discovered on the moon. Other than that, details are scarce. We have heard rumors that the Cybertronian God of Darkness and Chaos, Unicron, may be making an appearance.Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (July 15): Come on, do you really need a description? By this point, fans already know that they’ll be camping outside the theaters in anticipation of this one.Winnie the Pooh (July 15): Traditionally-animated films are a rarity these days, but we can think of no better way to herald the return of the famous bear. Even better, this will be the first film in the series to feature previously unadapted storiesDisney’s previous Pooh film was a collection of already-released shorts.Conan the Barbarian (August 19): Technically, this is a new franchise and not a sequel to the two Arnold Schwarzenegger films. Jason Momoa stars as the Cimmerian warrior.Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World (August 19): Robert Rodriguez returns to his family-friendly trilogy to focus on a new group of spy kidsassisted by Carmen and Juni Cortez, (Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara), the stars of the original trilogy.Final Destination 5 (August 26): How many times can we watch people running away from Death? Director Steven Quale and writer Eric Heisserer, both of whom are new to the series, aim to find out. Tony Todd returns from the first two installments.Johnny English Reborn (September 16): Rowan Atkinson reprises his role as James Bond parody Johnny English (who first appeared in a 2003 film of the same name). Gillian Anderson (The X-Files) plays MI7 Agent Pamela Head.Pirahna 3DD (September 16): I think the title says it all for this one.
